A Complete Process

Partnered with The Cabinet Shop in Columbus, Ohio, we include a complete turnkey process that begins with the initial meeting, progresses to sketches and drawings, then to CAD drawings, construction, and finally, installation. We are here to help guide you through every step from start to finish. If you can’t wait to see for yourself, finished projects can be seen here.

Design Process

The design process will take place with The Cabinet Shop and their designers.

This first step can take place with one of our designers over the phone or in our showroom. You’ll learn more about the Ohio made, high-quality custom cabinetry that NewHaven Cabinetry offers and get to know the team that assists with your project from start to finish.

The second step in the process is the design phase. This is often the most time consuming phase as this is the point in the process where we narrow down the overall design of your cabinetry project. Typically, this process is divided into multiple meetings as shown below or less depending on the scope of your project.

Meeting #1 - Preliminary Design Meeting

Meeting #2 - Proposal Meeting

Meeting #3 - Revision Meeting

At the revision meeting, we will review the second-round of drawings and estimate. We’ll talk through the overall design and capture any questions or changes that you have about your project. At this stage of the process, we require a deposit in order to keep working on final cabinetry designs and moving on into next steps in the process.

The third step in the process is to approve your cabinetry design for production. This is the most important step in the process as we order materials and begin manufacturing based off of the approved design. Your approval documents can be sent to you through email where you will be able to review and sign everything digitally using DocuSign. We recommend that you take the time to review each page of your design to ensure the selections, measurements, and designs are exactly as you planned. If everything looks good, then you can sign off and they’ll automatically be sent back to us. At this point, your work is done and now it’s our turn! We will submit everything to the NewHaven team and within a few days you will receive a tentative delivery and installation week.

NOTE: This is the point in the process in which your cabinetry manufacturing lead time begins. The lead time ranges anywhere from 8 to 10 weeks from the time you sign off on your design.

The final step of your cabinetry project is delivery and installation. Before our cabinets arrive, we ask that your jobsite is clean and free of debris, appliances, and any other objects that would get in the way of installation. Prior to the day that your cabinets arrive, we ask that you provide the remaining cabinetry balance. Every installation is a little different but for your average kitchen installation we’re looking at about 2-3 days to complete.
